Effortless Fundraising for Youth Sports & School Activities
Removing the friction in organizing, managing and tracking youth activity funds.
THE CHALLENGE
Youth activities have become increasingly expensive making financial management a vital component to an organization success. Today these responsibilities fall on parent volunteers without an appropriate management tool.
THE OUTCOME
A simple but robust fundraising management tool that empowers an organization manager to add members and track overall and individual fundraising goals. Multiple donation options are available including connected bank account round-up donations, one-time donations and cash donations. As an incentive to round-up donors, interest driven rewards are offered.
As the father of 4 children participating in youth club soccer, the founder of crumb is uniquely sensitive to the financial responsibilities and ongoing fundraising obligations. The idea to streamline the process of collecting and managing funds was tested against several different parents across multiple sports and organizations using a basic deck and click prototype.
From this initial feedback the idea was simplified even further paying extra attention to the potential of round-up donations,, not only to the member, but also the supporting family giving them access to the same interest-driven rewards.
After several months of prototype testing, the MVP was built on the back of a bootstrap theme to speed up the development cycle and get a working application into the hands of organizations as quickly as possible. The resulting app returned unexpected interest from a large youth sports retailer, professional athletes and several youth activity non-profits.
Organization Management. By consolidating all key functions into a combined dashboard team management portal, organization managers can quickly review fundraising progress and address member issues.
Member & Supporter Management. An organization member, most typically the parent, has a single interface to manage funding sources, track overall member fundraising progress and explore available rewards. A simple donation form can be publicly shared with donations being creditied to the member.
Role: Independent Contractor. I was responsible for product management, UX/IxD, visual design, web design and video production.
