The Find
While visiting my mom and grandmother in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ, I came across some fallen aspen tree branches. I’ve always loved the texture of the white bark and figured it could make a nice organic art piece.
The Build
I took 3 pieces of broken pallet wood and lined them up to match the curve of the branch. I connected the pieces of wood together by screwing large paint stir sticks, free at any home improvement store, to the back. I then lightly sanded the wood and applied a simple white wash. Finally, I attached the branch at the base by drilling a small hole and nailing it in place and attaching a found metal bracket to the top to keep it from moving side to side.
All and all I think it came out pretty nice and it was super easy to build.
