THE CHALLENGE
Deliver a monetized mobile app on multiple platforms that offers standard key stock market data and insights that is easy to understand for a region that has never had this information easily accessible.
THE OUTCOME
A modern, subscription-based mobile app that allows users to track stock market trends and details across all businesses, personal portfolio assessment and custom notifications.
goTadawal MVP mobile app was originally released in February 2018. With over a year of feedback it was time to update the app. The key areas that need to be addressed other than overall stability was simplifying an over complicated interface allowing for more space to review and interpret complex financial data.
We addressed these issues by modernizing the overall look an feel with a dark color scheme to make readability easier and increased padding through out the experience. We updated the on-boarding flow to better prepare the user and simplified the navigation from 9 global navigational elements to 4 consistently placed at the bottom of the interface.
Although the interactions were a bit more manual than normal due to the lack of public APIs, the overall flows were natural and logical, especially for a region that has had no access to data like this.
Stock Market & Portfolio. A user can simply toggle between all stocks and the ones in their persona portfolio by using a standard footer navigation pattern. By tapping on any stock, quick stock details are displayed with a toggle between overall stats and personal position.
Stock Details. By drilling into the detail of any stock a user can toggle between general stock stats and personal position in the stock. As there is no public brokerage available, a user may add a stock to their personal portfolio manually unlocking deeper insights about movement on their investment.
Custom Notifications. With deeper insights now available to investors, a user can set up custom alerts giving them an email and/or notifications when key price movements occur.
